Free trial jiu-jitsu class in Moorgate

Your first session at Stoa. A free trial class in the beginners programme. Structured, coached, and sparring if you feel ready. You'll be taught effective techniques from this trial session and leave knowing whether this is the club for you.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The session

Your first jiu-jitsu class in Moorgate is stand alone lesson of a 24-lesson beginners' programme — a complete class in itself, and the start of a structured path. You'll work from standing to the ground, and leave with something to build on.

The People

You'll be paired with a team member who knows what they're doing. The coach will know your name . Safety and fun is our priority .

The Kit

No-gi: compression tights with shorts over the top, and a compression shirt (rash guard). If you don't own those, shorts without zips or pockets and a plain t-shirt will do for a first class.


Gi: we'll lend you one, or bring your own if you have it.


Either way: bare feet on the mats and flip-flops off it, nails cut short, no jewellery, and bring water.

Before you Arrive

You'll need to complete a short waiver before your first session. It's in the booking system and only takes a few minutes.

Five-minute walk from Moorgate Station (~530m), served by the Northern, Elizabeth, Metropolitan, Circle, and Hammersmith & City lines plus National Rail and Thameslink. Barbican and Liverpool Street are both within easy walking distance.
